The workshop is my invitation into the wet-plate process. Across two days at my Kingston studio, we'll make 4x5" tintypes on aluminum, moving through it all together: pouring and sensitizing plates, making exposures, developing, varnishing.
Limited to four people, so we can all work closely. No prior experience necessary.

"Kyle's Wet Plate Fundamentals Workshop is as inspirational as it is educational. His studio is a portal connecting the past, etched in silver, to presence, through water and light. Diving right into practice, we got tactile learning and feedback on both sides of the lens, from pouring plates, adjusting exposures, developing negatives, posing, varnishing and all the conversation in between. Kyle is an incredibly gracious and experiential guide, leading with insight while creating space for each participant's own artistic vision.
