Each tintype begins in conversation—about your intentions, the feeling of the day, and what you hope the image might hold. We work slowly and deliberately, making one or two plates to find the moment that feels right.

This is an unpredictable medium, bound to chemistry and chance. No two plates are the same, and that’s part of their quiet magic. Please familiarize yourself with the process and my style before booking.

Setup and teardown take about an hour each. Multiple plates unfold at a rhythm of one every 15–20 minutes. My traveling darkroom—a 6’ x 6’ ice-fishing tent—can be set up almost anywhere. With access to power, I can offer studio-quality portraits (best indoors); without it, we work with whatever the day gives us—sun, shadow, wind, time.
