Getting Here

My Kingston studio is accessible  by foot  from downtown Seattle.

The weekday walk-on ferry departs

from Seattle at 7:55am and 10:45am ($13),

and returns to Seattle at 2:30pm, 4:10pm,

and 5:55pm ($2).

You can see the studio from the water as the ferry arrives.

House-Calls

I’ll bring my camera, mobile darkroom, and chemistry to your location when the work calls for a particular place, or when travel to the studio isn't possible.

Sessions are arranged individually and priced according to scope and distance.

Pop-Ups

On-location portrait sessions, often by appointment.

I bring my camera, mobile darkroom, and chemistry, and we create images on the spot.

Pop-up sessions typically include one varnished plate and a digital file; pricing varies by event.

Session Type

(Who––or what––will be in front of the camera?)

For example:

  • a set of tintypes for our engagement, one 5x7" two 4x5"s

  • two portraits of myself: one tintype for my family and one ambrotype for myself

  • two 5x7" maternity portraits, and maybe one head-and-shoulders portrait of me. This is a magical time!

  • two 8x10" ambrotypes –– an individual portrait of my wife and I to display in our new home

  • My friend is interested in tintypes, I want to buy a session as a gift. I want to surprise them.. what do you recommend?

  • etc!

These require more preparation in advance. Sizes available: 4x5", 5x7", 8x10".

(An image, a feeling, a way of working..)
