Studio Sessions

Sitting for a tintype can feel closer to sitting for a painting than modern photograph, with time spent in the studio working physically from plate to plate, image to image. For me, this is a true joy.

Sessions are shaped collaboratively, whether focused or exploratory. Timing is discussed in advance; sessions can run anywhere from one hour to several, depending on our aims.

4x5" —  $250

5x7" — $300

8x10" — $425

Finished plates are provided, along with a high-resolution digital file of each. Additional plates of the same subject/set-up are half price.

These are a starting point, sizes and plate counts can be mixed and matched however you like. Let me know what you're imagining, and we can shape the day accordingly.

Tintypes are the standard medium; ambrotypes (on glass) available by request (+$50/plate).

A common arrangement for two:

Couples Triptychs are a special offering for two at a discounted rate, and include one together and two individual portraits.

three 5x7"s — $600

one 8x10" + two 5x7"s — $725

These are common combinations, but any mix of sizes or number of plates can be arranged.

Getting Here

You can walk to my Kingston studio from downtown Seattle via the walk-on ferry.

The studio is a 6-minute walk from the moment you step off the boat, just beyond the ferry terminal. It's close to restaurants, cafes, and Saltair Beach.

You can see the studio from the water as the ferry arrives.

The walk-on ferry does not run on Sundays.
